Okay, so Lydia got me into all kinds of trouble and nearly got me killed, but without her things are kind of boring. Oh! Today in the paper it said that the UN forced one of Liberia’s most notorious rebels out of the country. They had been working on this for a year and then suddenly pulled it off. (Hmmm … isn’t that interesting…) “We must have scared him off for good,” says one UN worker pictured with an AK47 in his hands. Henry Tofana sneaked past security, crossing over into Sierra Leone unchecked. From there he publicly stated that he was renouncing his alliance with any rebel groups in Liberia and promised never to return. “I love my country,” he said. “But I’ve done it more harm than good. It’s time for me to step aside and let some healing begin.”

Lydia drew a picture of my house. I can’t draw (neither can she), but I can find anything on the Internet. Anything. So here’s a map of Monrovia. My house is in Mamba Point. (PS My dad gave me permission to tell where we live because he says no one’s going to come to Monrovia and the people who live here already know. We kind of stick out here. Especially me. I haven’t seen another Korean person since we moved out here almost four years ago.)
